Even though Jobandtalent is a remote-first company, our teams come together in offices around Europe, and four European cities, in particular, are home to our tech hubs. Learn about each JT tech hub, and visit them whenever you fancy!

Madrid: More than just HQ

The Madrid hub, located in the city’s financial district Castellana, has been active since 2017. The Castellana office serves mainly as the company’s headquarters, but is now shared with Scale ES and Revenue verticals and teams. The latter will be moving from the current location in February or March 2023 to a new office nearby, while Castellana will be used as an HQ office.

As everywhere, the Covid-19 pandemic reshaped the office layout as we knew it. Personal desks became hot desks, open to anybody who feels like working from the office.

“While a small number of people visit the office on a regular basis, there is no obligation to do so”, says Lua Novak Vásquez, financial controlling specialist from Madrid.

There are, however, days when the Castellana office is as crowded as before the pandemic. This often coincides with the after-work beers held on Thursdays.

The Catalonian spirit of Barcelona

Jobandtalent’s tech hub in Barcelona has been closely cooperating with the one in Madrid since its formation in 2019. After two location changes, the office in the capital of Catalonia finally found its abode in carrer de la Diputació, among fancy apartments and shops.

“We started with less than 10, mainly data and sales people, and now there are over 30 of us in total” says Michele Trevisiol, SVP of Data, based in Barcelona.

The Barcelona team now is a diverse mix of people working across different departments like Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, but also Recruitment, and Finance.

Having seen a similar tendency of people choosing to work from home in the wake of Covid, Michele says that there is still a strong bond between him and his hub colleagues they continue to tender.

“We never had a dedicated office manager or hub leader-like function. Everything is up to the leaders of particular teams but with continuous great support from our HQ. To keep the good vibe between us, we organize regular events, be it during the week or at weekends”, adds Michele.

All in all, the spirit in Barcelona is self-reliant and democratic in the best Catalonian way. If you would like to work from here before visiting Camp Nou and La Sagrada Familia, make yourself comfy at one of the many hot desks available!

Villena: Work hard and play hard

Villena, a city located in the province of Alicante, in the south of Spain, has been on Jobandtalent’s tech hub map since February 2022. However, people here have known each other for years, working as a team for various companies, dating back to as far as 2014. And this “team-first” approach is what makes them stand out among the rest.

“It is safe to say that we have been transmitting culture from company to company rather than the other way around”, says Carlos Pérez Ruiz, Jobandtalent’s VP of Engineering, based in Villena.

Since the acquisition, the team has grown from approximately 20 to 35 people who share the “work hard, play hard” philosophy.

What does it mean?

“We are the most focused people when we work, but we also spend a lot of time together besides that. We laugh, share personal stuff, while still placing a huge emphasis on the quality of what we do”, says Alba Vicent Contreras, a talent acquisition specialist from Villena.

The majority of people affiliated with the hub work on the same projects in the Scale vertical. Although there are some exceptions — Villena is also home to members of Devex and Core teams.

To make all these people stick together, the crew enjoys a variety of events, be it usual biweekly or all-hands meetings, Xmas parties, puzzle championships, or official retreats.

All this makes the Villena tech hub team a community one of its kind, in which high tech expertise meets open approach, and in which everyone is welcome.

“We love to stay in touch, and are proud of our culture based on encouraging one another, and collective engagement”, adds Carlos.

Poznań: A meeting point for Polish employees

Similar to the Alicante tech hub, the one in Poznań joined Jobandtalent in the first half of 2022, but people who work there have been colleagues for years, some even as long as over a decade.

“Approximately 25 people are affiliated with our office, however there were over 40 of them at our most recent Xmas party. This proves that we are more than just a local hub, rather a meeting point for all Polish employees of Jobandtalent”, explains Maciej Litwiniuk, engineering director, who lives and works in Poznań.

Having known each other for years, his team managed to build a strong culture based on high quality standards, transparency and direct communication.

The team in Poznań has its members across all company verticals at Jobandtalent, and is the birthplace of the jobandtalent.engineering blog initiative.

If you are planning to work from here, you will definitely appreciate frequent parties, a welcome Jägermeister shot (if you are up for it!), spacious and green rooms in an apartment house from the early 20th century, and a vast abundance of locally roasted coffee.

What else? During spring and summer you more than surely will attend one of our famous garden parties.

Feels like home? Sure it does!
